Garlic lowers blood pressure and blood cholesterol, discourages dangerous blood clotting. Two or three cloves a day cut the odds of subsequent heart attacks in half in heart patients. Aged garlic may better than cooked garlic.
The volatile, sulfur- containing oils that give garlic its pungency are known to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol & raise HDL (good) cholesterol. It prevents oxidation of LDL.
